A Word from the Pastor

Welcome to our website. I invite you to walk with me through the journey of my own salvation experience and how the Lord commissioned me for the work of the ministry.

I was miraculously saved as the result of an encounter, more accurately referred to as an epiphany, I experienced when I was 19 years old. Prior to that revelation the Spirit of God had been dealing with me in ways that I now know are defined as conviction. God has unique ways of intervening in our lives in ways we cannot imagine. After dating my wife to be, Diane, for a few months the fruit of her prayers were realized when I encountered God in the form of a visible brilliant light. The voice of God spoke to me through that light and said, “I want your life.” That night I surrendered my life to Him in exchange for a cross. The Lord proceeded to tell me to get a Bible and to start reading it.

After Diane and I were married there was a season that we attended a local church. We had come to the realization that Spiritually they had taken us as far as they could. We knew the Lord had more for us, so we began to search for a place where we could experience the fullness of God. It was then that the Lord spoke to me and told me to start a church. Being a Pastor was not one of the aspirations I had for my life, but God harnessed my passions and anointed me to preach the Gospel.

In February of 1988 we began our ministry at New Testament Church of the Firstborn. We have come from a place of very humble beginnings, but as the Scripture bears out we should not “despise the day of small things.” Zech. 4:10 There were just a handful of people in that dilapidated building the first service, but more importantly the presence of God was there to save, heal and deliver. The Lord assured me that if I would “go” He would be with me. He has always been faithful to manifest His presence through the anointing and the gifts of the Spirit, in spite of my weaknesses and failures.

As the Lord enables us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will reach the world with the Gospel of the Kingdom through any and all mediums that the technology of the 21st century affords us. As the Apostle Paul said, “…for I seek not yours, but you; and I will very gladly spend and be spent for you.”1 Cor. 12:14-15

It is our hope and prayer for you that God, through this ministry, will enable you to, “… come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Eph. 4:13 And I ask that your prayer for me would be that God would grant me “… utterance, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel.” Eph. 6:19
